6. Lt. Satterfield (Grace Park)

Marina Sirtis Stargate

Season 5's episode Proving Ground has a cast of young, raw recruits to the SGC. Elliot is assigned team leader and overthinks every situation, Grogan is good to take a hit but not much of a thinker, Jennifer Hailey is back from her previous appearance in season 4 and still a firecracker, then there's Satterfield. The young officer is curious, shy and clearly has a crush on Daniel Jackson (who wouldn't have, look into those eyes sometime).

During the course of the episode, she proves that she's capable of joining an SG team, with solid professionalism and compassion. Satterfield was played by Grace Park, more than a year before she would be cast in a very different style of military sci-fi, the grimly dark and darkly grim Battlestar Galactica. Appearing on both shows helps to visualise the stark difference in styles for both franchises and promotes variety in our sci-fi.

Thanks for that, Ms. Park.

Still bitter that Star Trek Enterprise got canned and almost old enough to angrily tell the kids to 'Get Off My Lawn!'
