10 Best Time Travel TV Episodes

7. The X-Files - Triangle

This stand-out episode from Season 6 sees Mulder boarding a ship from 1939 that has just come out of the infamous Bermuda Triangle. It doesn't take long for him to realise that it is in fact he that has gone back in time to 1939. Triangle is notable for the unique, real-time style it uses that gives it a very different feel to any other episode of the series. We also get to see our favourite characters (and Spender) such as Skinner and the Cigarette Smoking Man appear as Nazi soldiers. And Gillian Anderson gets to play a feisty, no-nonsense woman from the good ol' '30s. What's not to love? It gets full-on awesome when Scully and the lone gunmen grow concerned for Mulder's welfare and locate the ship, only to find that it's completely empty. Split-screen is cleverly used to show Mulder and 1930s Scully running around the ship, while Scully and the gunmen search the same areas in present day. Mulder eventually wakes up in a hospital in 1998 where he's told by Scully that he was found unconscious in the ocean with no time travelling Nazis in sight. He then rests his head on the pillow, only to find that his cheek is still sore from the right-hook he got from 1930s Scully when he cheekily kissed her goodbye. Did he really go back in time? Was it just a dream? Does it really matter when an episode is this good? No. No it doesn't. Next!

When I'm not playing games, I'm probably either writing about them somewhere or singing stupid songs inspired by them. Or eating pizza.
