8. Villanelle - Killing Eve

With inimitable style and an impossible-to-ignore energy, Villanelle stands tall as one of the best TV antiheroes to debut in the last decade, thanks to the award-winning performance of the talented Jodie Comer, and Killing Eve's striking approach to storytelling.

A cold and calculating assassin by trade, Villanelle is both psychotic and exciting. Though she takes great pleasure in her work, her charisma and almost child-like glee makes her as fun and likeable as she is unforgivably evil, unpredictable and disturbing.

It's tough to make such a despicable person so fun, amusing and weirdly endearing, but with Killing Eve Jodie Comer has managed it without fault.

Add to this complexity Villanelle's strange mutual obsession with MI5 agent Eve Polastri (the also-brilliant Sandra Oh), and what you have is an antiheroine for the ages who promises to only get better in the show's upcoming final season.

I get to write about what I love, so that's pretty cool. Every great film should seem new every time you see it. Be excellent to each other.
