Chuck's redemption arc is one of the most powerful on this list, as it's the closest to real life. Plenty of viewers have dealt with people like this in their lifetime and know full well they will never get better. However, even the most toxic people on TV can change.

It was impossible to root for Chuck when he was introduced in Gossip Girl. His behaviour was disgusting, as he attempted to force himself onto women, actively slut-shamed Blair and even abandoned her in Europe, and these were only a few of his disdainful qualities.

However, things eventually changed for him as he began to mature and slowly strayed away from these tendencies. While it may have been too late for many, he proved that altering your behaviour can be done. Chuck even went on to marry his on-again/off-again partner Blair in the season finale, finally seeming to understand and apologise for his bad behaviour.

Even towards the end, it was difficult for many to see eye-to-eye with him, and that's perfectly fine. The message on display here wasn't to fully forgive him but rather to understand that from now on, no-one would be hurt from his actions and that he'd genuinely grown-up.
