10 Best TV Shows Of 2018 (So Far)

3. The Good Place

It's something of a marvel that The Good Place was even able to keep going for a second season, given how Season 1 ended, and that Season 2 actually ended up taking the show to new heights is simply a testament to the genius of creator Mike Schur (Parks & Rec, Brooklyn Nine-Nine).

The best pure sitcom on TV, The Good Place continued to be truly great even when (heck, especially when) it went to the Bad Place in the back-half of Season 2, which brought much more development to its characters, the superb addition of Maya Rudolph as the Judge, and a surprisingly affecting morality tale.

There are glorious puns, Bad Janets, corridors full of surprises, Jake Jortles, and Ted Danson just being The Best. The chemistry between the ensemble is a joy in itself to witness, and it’s backed up by some of the sharpest writing you'll find on TV regardless of genre. It might not have had quite the same shock-factor as Season 1, but the series became smarter, sillier, and even more fulfilling, and it's going to be so exciting to see where it goes next as a result. Hot diggity dog!
