10 Best TV Shows Of 2018 (So Far)

4. Crazy Ex-Girlfriend

Crazy Ex Girlfriend
The CW

With the second-half of Season 3, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend continued to go to some dark places as it really showed what reclaiming its own title could mean for the character of Rebecca.

As she deals with her borderline personality disorder and the fallout from that diagnosis, we're given a more in-depth look at her psyche than ever before. The result is the character that viewers may not always like, but is constantly compelling and, in these six episodes, empathetic.

The show once again makes big choices that many others might shy away from, and sees Rebecca (with Rachel Bloom on top form once more) coming to realise that no man can 'fix' her. The balance the show achieves here, in picking things up from her lowest point and actually putting her on the long, hard road to getting better, is incredible.

Add to that some excellent subplots around surrogate pregnancy and sexuality, the wonderful cast, and some stellar musical numbers - from Buttload of Cats to The Miracle of Birth - and it's a show that's consistently strange, brave, challenging, and above all entertaining.
