10 Best TV Shows That Were Never Made

3. Heat Vision And Jack Was One Of The Best Things That Just Didn't Happen

Though Hollywood and critics didn't catch on at the time, 1999 was a huge year for comedy, ringing in the new century with a new cast of rogues that had paid their dues in bit parts and small roles before getting discovered.

Ben Stiller was one of the first casualties of this gross miscalculation, and even though his sketch show took home an Emmy, it was canceled early. With misleading ratings and a lack of understanding 90s teens, Stiller's whole team had their careers briefly stymied. This included the heavy-drinking, Community creator Dan Harmon, Jack Black, and Rob Schrab.

With a cast comprised of Black, the voice of Owen Wilson as his talking motorcycle and the late Ron Silver as himself, Harmon and Schrab set out to create a send-up of those high-concept one-hour dramas of the 70s and 80s such as Knight Rider and Manimal.

Black is a former astronaut who, after an accident, gained the super abilities powered by the sun (Black: "I KNOW EVERYTHING!"), his best friend Wilson merged with his motorcycle. Together, they're on the run from NASA agent Ron Silver. You know, from Timecop.

FOX ordered a pilot but no follow up. Heat Vision has gained fans since its appearance online and Schrab alluded to a feature script in the works as late as 2007.

Kenny Hedges is carbon-based. So I suppose a simple top 5 in no order will do: Halloween, Crimes and Misdemeanors, L.A. Confidential, Billy Liar, Blow Out He has his own website - thefilmreal.com - and is always looking for new writers with differing views to broaden the discussion.
