10. Return To Spider-Skull Island

Who wants PIZZA ROOOLLS?Cant you hear the wind calling, little miss little miss cant be wrong? Were free! We are the future! By the time season one was concluding, The Venture Bros. had completely lost all traces of initial awkwardness, replacing it with slick dialogue, funny jokes, and tight storytelling. Doc Venture checks into the ER with massive abdominal swelling, which Hank and Dean think is a new baby brother or sister. While being looked after by Dr. Orpheus, the Venture boys decide to run away from home. Whatever was removed from Doctor Venture mysteriously disappears, only to reappear when Brock and Doc return home. It turns out that the growth was actually Docs twin brother, who he apparently devoured while they were in the womb together. The tiny man builds a big robot suit and chases Rusty through the compound. This episode is animated wonderfully, most especially in that great slow motion sequence where Brock saves the day. A handful of great supporting characters fill out the ranks. Dr. Orpheus is at his best, and the Monarch really steals the show with his scared straight program. But most important is the Easy Rider-esque ending, where an accidental act of violence sets the tone for the rest of the show.
