9. Mike's Revenge

The series also managed to flesh out some of the most beloved characters from Breaking Bad. One of whom was the legendary badass himself, Mike Ehrmantraut. He was given quite a lot of depth in episode "Five-O", where we get to see his origin story and look at all the things he did and said in Breaking Bad in a brand new light.

In "Five-O", Mike takes revenge on a couple of corrupt cops responsible for the death of his son. Like the Mike we all know and love, he uses his wits to trick the cops into lowering their guard. He pretends to be hopelessly drunk and then provokes the cops by telling them he knows what they did to his son. The cops, realizing he is an uncomfortable witness that could be comfortably disposed of in his current state, take him to a quiet place, providing Mike with the perfect location for enacting his revenge. The look on their faces as the fully sober Mike pulls out his gun is priceless, especially considering how smug they were in discussing taking Mike out.

What's truly the icing on the cake of Mike's story is what happens at the end of the episode, however. Mike's heartwrenching monologue about the loss of his son is one of the most memorable moments in the show, which also gives us more insight into what drives him throughout the series. Mike bears an unbelievable guilt after forcing his son to become a corrupt cop like himself, which ultimately leads to the young officer's demise. Because of this, Mike sees the world of crime in black and white and justifies killing, so long as it's the bad guys who suffer.
