Heat vision has always been one of Supergirl’s favorite powers. The laser beams coming from her eyes have the ability to cut through almost anything including walls, vehicles, and the occasional villain.
While facing her uncle Non in the season finale of Supergirl, she and the villainous Kryptonian fight to a standstill. During the course of their fight, they become locked in a battle of heat vision. With both Kryptonians attempting to blast the other, their beams met and they each waited for the other to blink first. Giving everything she has, she is able to overpower Non’s heat vision and blast him directly in the eyes, killing him.
With her defeat of Non, Kara stepped out of Superman’s shadow, and became her own hero that had the ability to defeat some of the biggest threats the Arrowverse has to offer.
