10 Biggest Idiots In Star Trek

9. Droxine (Star Trek: The Original Series)

When you think of Droxine, do you imagine her as the elegant, graceful princess of the cloud city of Stratos (TOS episode: The Cloud Minders) or as an entitled, vacuous airhead? In all truth, even the wispy quality of her voice is enough to make the most tender-hearted grandmother grind her dentures in an epileptic fit of exasperation.

This is the type of woman who not only thinks that indentured servitude is a happy state of being for some people, but makes you adopt eye-rolling as a permanent facial tic after all her sentences. Her idea of subtle flirting is to paw all over Mr. Spock while engaging him in pointless and illogical debate.

She's barely aware of the effects of her words. The fact that the Troglyte, Vanna, is unhappy that her people are left to slave in the caverns, uneducated, and oppressed completely escapes her. She expresses to Kirk that the social system is perfect and asks why it needs to be changed.

Clearly, the concept of social equality is nothing more than strange sounds to this privileged princess in the clouds. This is a case of someone whose $50 bills won't fit in her wallet and her diamond shoes are too big for her feet. Awww ... princess. She may have been described as a work of art, but she's all idiot, entitled and vacuous.

John Kirk is a Teacher-Librarian and currently a History/English Teacher with the Toronto District School Board. But mostly, John teaches Geek. Comics, Sci-Fi (Notably Star Trek), Fantasy and Role-Playing and table-top games all make up part of John’s repertoire, There is a whole generation of nerds-in-embryo who rely on him to make sense of it all, to teach that with great power comes great responsibility, that the force will be with us always and that a towel IS the most useful thing to have in one’s possession. When John isn’t in the classroom, he can be found in his basement writing comic reviews for www.popmythology.com and features for Roddenberry Entertainment's www.1701news.com.
