3. Lupita Nyong'o Wanted For Star Wars Episode VII
Believe it or not, Star Wars Episode VII is fast approaching, and yet we know virtually
nothing about the movie. At least, we have no
confirmed news. What we do have are endless rumors, and at this point it all feels like white noise. Normally I try to let rumors go, but this one was just too juicy not to discuss. Latino Review reported this week that 12 Years A Slave star and Academy Award winner Lupita Nyong'o is being eyed for a major role in the film, a part that is "tied into the family lines from Episodes 4-6." Latino Review doesn't name their source, but claims that she could be playing a Sith. It makes sense that Disney would want to hire the actress for Star Wars; she's red hot right now after her Oscar win and a great actress who could bring some major gravitas to the film. However, because we don't know anything for sure we'll have to take this with the requisite grain of salt and add it to the pile of rumors that include names like Adam Driver, Jesse Plemons, Benedict Cumberbatch, Gary Oldman, and Saoirse Ronan (who, frankly, are all amazing choices. Come on Disney, this isn't
that hard!)
