4. Will Phil Lord And Chris Miller Direct Ghostbusters 3?

Ghostbusters 3 has been in the works for about two decades (really), and it's gotten to the point where most of the news surrounding the project has amounted to, "Well, it'll happen eventually." Now it seems like Sony is finally moving forward with making the movie a reality, and announced earlier this week that Ivan Reitman has stepped down as director and will now act as a producer on the film. This news comes after the shocking death of Harold Ramis, who played Dr. Egon Spengler in the original films. The news or Reitman's departure left many wondering who would take his place, and the day after the initial announcement two names came out of the woodwork: Phil Lord and Chris Miller. Their involvement is the most exciting thing that could happen to this film, and though it hasn't been confirmed yet, I desperately hope it's true. Lord and Miller are the directing duo behind The LEGO Movie, and have shown that they not only know how to make a great film, but craft a movie that pays respect to the source material, while both playing on audience nostalgia and brilliantly updating the material for new audiences. They did so with 21 Jump Street, a film based on an 80's TV show no one cared about, which was met with critical acclaim and a substantial box office haul. It was recently announced that they would
not be back for the LEGO sequel expected to hit theaters in 2017, so could that mean they were leaving room in their schedules for some ghost busting? I sure hope so, becuase this is the
only news that's gotten me excited about this film.
