9. Justin Lin And Rachel McAdams Circle True Detective Season 2

HBO surprised audiences earlier this year with their acclaimed drama series True Detective, which was written by Nic Pizzolatto and directed by Cary Fukunaga. Fukunaga helmed all eight episodes of the series' first season, but has announced that he won't be returning for its highly anticipated second. With so much attention payed to who will replace Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson as the leads (signs now point toward Colin Farrell, Taylor Kitsch, and Elisabeth Moss), we've seemingly ignored the question of who will bring the new stories to life. According to THR, Fast & Furious 6 director Justin Lin is in early talks to direct at least the first two episodes of season 2. The site notes that the talks are "in the early stages with many details, including budgets and vision, still needing to be worked out." Variety then entered the fray by saying that there are other candidates for Moss' role, one of whom is Rachel McAdams. Season 2 isn't set to premiere until summer 2015, but hopefully these endless rumors will be put to rest soon and the final cast will be officially announced.
