10 Biggest Plot Holes In Buffy The Vampire Slayer

8. Vampire Breath

During the finale of Season 1, Buffy is bitten by the Master and collapses into a pool. When Angel and Xander find her body, they rush over to her. After claiming to have no breath, Angel has to watch as Xander tries to revive his friend.

The thing is, there’s plenty of evidence to contradict Angel’s claim. Throughout the show, vampires – including Angel – will pant during fights or chase sequences. And in ‘Becoming, Part 2’, Spike knocks out Drusilla by putting her in a chokehold. This should be impossible – if you can’t breathe, you can’t suffocate either.

Speaking of Spike, he smokes throughout the entire show, and you can't smoke unless you have breath!

Does it really matter in terms of the overall story? No, but it’s still odd that the writers chose to include this rule in the first place.
