10 Biggest TV Scandals Of 2015

8. "Lyin'" Brian Williams

I always liked Brian Williams. He appeared on 30 Rock. He tinged his straight news with a bit of snark. As far as news anchors go, he was one of the most fun to watch. Sadly, Williams approached a few of his stories with the same factual integrity as a WWE script. Mr. Williams claimed that in 2003 he was in a helicopter flying over Iraq that was forced to land due to being struck by RPG and machine gun fire. The actual quote was: €œThe story actually started with a terrible moment a dozen years back during the invasion of Iraq, when the helicopter we were traveling in was forced down after being hit by an RPG, our traveling NBC News team was rescued, surrounded and kept alive by an armor-mechanized platoon from the US Army 3rd Infantry.€ Pretty heroic sounding...until veteran Lance Reynolds called Williams out on the Nightly News Facebook page: €œSorry, dude, I don€™t remember you being on my aircraft. I do remember you walking up about an hour after we had landed to ask me what had happened.€ Long story somewhat short, Williams was relieved of his duties at the Nightly News and replaced by Lester Holt. Many of Williams' other stories have since been called into question. While he managed to land a gig at MSNBC, he'll never live down his bogus war story.
