8. Fly In The Ointment
Sam has a bit of hard time of it as a shapeshifter, often not quite fitting in this world of other, more powerful supernatural beings and having no luck in having his feelings for Sookie reciprocated. So it’s good when he meets Luna, a fellow shifter - who also has a were-daughter - and the two start a relationship.
When Luna’s daughter Emma is captured by the Authority, she and Sam hatch a plan to sneak in and rescue her, which they start by transforming into mice.
However, they end up being captured and separated, and Luna looks set to meet a bloody end at the hands - or rather, teeth - of Authority member Rosalyn. That’s when Sam flies in - literally, as a fly - and goes straight into the vampire’s open mouth.
Once inside her body, he shifts back into his human form and explodes out of her. On a show full of them, this stands out as being one of the craziest, bloodiest and most inventive ways of killing someone.
