8. Devil In Ohio
Our next entry features some people you might have heard of, unlike the previous one. Devil in Ohio is an upcoming suspense thriller based on the book of the same name authored by Daria Polatin. As it stands, Polatin herself will be involved in the Netflix adaptation as an executive producer and showrunner.
The story follows a hospital psychiatrist (played by Emily Deschanel) who provides shelter to a young girl seemingly escaping from a mysterious cult. The girl's arrival shakes up the doctor's family, involves them in a web of lies, and threatens to drive them apart.
Polatin's novel is largely praised for its great combination of thrills, humour, and heart, which sounds very promising when it comes to a TV adaptation. Those things are usually highly transferrable to the screen and make for a great watching experience. Of course, that depends on how true to the source material the show will be, but hopefully, with Polatin set to be heavily involved in the creative process, it will be a successful transition.
In addition to Deschanel, the show will feature Sam Jaeger, Gerardo Celasco, and Madeleine Arthur, among others.
