10 Brand New TV Shows Coming To Netflix In 2022
6. The Pentaverate
It has been a while since we've seen Mike Myers in a leading role, hasn't it? In fact, it's been 14 years since his performance as Guru Maurice Pitka in Marco Schnabel's The Love Guru. Since then he has appeared in a few supporting roles (perhaps most notably in Bohemian Rhapsody), but never really as the star of the show.
That is set to change this May, when his fascinating new project arrives on Netflix worldwide. The Pentaverate is a bizarre story about a secret underground organisation that has been influencing pivotal world events since the 14th century, told from the perspective of Ken Scarborough, an investigative journalist hellbent on exposing the organisation.
Myers is set to write, executive produce, and star as Scarborough and seven other characters. Him playing eight different characters, one more ridiculous than the other, is probably all the marketing the series needs. However, there is a lot more to it than that.
Thought up as a dark and absurd comedy, The Pentaverate looks like it's going to be a wild rollercoaster ride, with comedy superstars Ken Jeong and Keegan-Michael Key appearing in supporting roles. Also, Jeremy Irons is going to be narrating the episodes.
