10 Breaking Bad Characters Who Play Smaller, But Crucial Roles
5. Old Joe
In terms of playing a vital part in Walt and Jesse not getting caught, you could easily say that junkyard owner, Old Joe, plays the biggest role of all.
He's the one on the spot just as Hank is about to find his way into the RV, where he uses his knowledge of American law and rights to talk Hank down from immediately entering the portable meth lab. Not only is this key in ensuring Jesse and Walt remain out of Hank's clutches, he proves himself as being willing to do whatever it takes to keep whoever is paying him happy.
This is further brought to light when he later plays a crucial role in saving the pair's skin once again as he provides the magnet and mechanism needed to enable Walt, Jesse, and Mike to drive to police HQ and ensure that Gus' laptop is destroyed once and for all.
It really shouldn't be underestimated how important Old Joe is to the series. And while he might be loveable and likeable for the viewer, rest assured he is just as willing to get his hands dirty as many of the shows key characters.
