10 Breaking Bad Mistakes Nobody Noticed
1. The Bathtub Sequence
One of the key scenes that showed that Breaking Bad was a step above any other show that came before it, going back and seeing Walt and Jesse's first run in with the world of crystal meth really shows how out of their depths they were.
After their first attempted deal becomes botched, Jesse and Walt are left with the corpse of Emilio to deal with. Walt's knowledge of chemistry leads him to devise a plan involving hydrofluoric acid, which he claims will dissolve through flesh and bone and leave no evidence of a body for somebody to uncover.
Things take a wrong turn when Jesse decides that, instead of buying the bin Walt specifically asked for, the bathtub upstairs will be sufficient enough. What follows is the acid indeed melting through most of the body, but also melting through the bathtub. And the floor. And then the ceiling too.
It's jaw-dropping and undoubtedly an awesome moment for the series, but it's also a giant mistake when it comes to the capabilities of hydrofluoric acid. The mighty Mythbusters themselves proved that, whilst the acid is somewhat able to burn through a little bit of organic matter, there's no way it would ever be able to get through the ceramics and floorboards of the tub and ceiling.
