10 Breaking Bad Mistakes Nobody Noticed
2. The 'Whacking Bin Laden' Line
Though he is undoubtedly the leader of some of the very worst group of individuals Breaking Bad ever produced, neo-Nazi Jack Welker and his band of merry men prove to be pretty useful for Walter White nearly the end of season five. As the trail to Heisenberg becomes more and more streamlined, Walt conjures up a plan to tie up all of his loose ends by taking out every single contact he has acquired that is currently in custody.
In order to prevent the authorities from getting a clue of what's going on and putting some of these contacts into protective custody, Walt insists that all of these guys must be taken out at the exact same moment.
It's a frighteningly precise plan, and one that ends up working to devastating effect in the end. However, upon hearing it initially, Jack reacts with some scepticism and remarks that: "whacking bin Laden wasn't this complicated."
This entire episode is shown as being set sometime in 2009, and Osama Bin Laden was killed in May 2011. Unless his rancid beliefs lends him some foresight into the future, seems like this is one of those mistakes where the rush to get a good line down on paper has replaced making sure everything fits in properly.
