10 Buffy & Angel Easter Eggs You Might Have Missed
4. Nerf Herder Plays The Bronze
Episode: Empty Places (Buffy, Season 7) Nerf Herder is the band responsible for both versions of the Buffy theme song, the original in the first two seasons, and the amped up version that opened the show from season three onwards. For the final season, Mutant Enemy (Joss Whendon's production house) opted to bring the band in to play at The Bronze, the local hangout for Buffy and her pals over the years. They showed up in the episode "Empty Places" without much fanfare outside hardcore Whedonites, who were aware of who they were. During their on-screen appearance, Kennedy asks "What kind of band plays during an apocalypse?" to which Dawn answers that they might actually be one of the signs. It served as the show's send-off to The Bronze. Sadly they didn't wear the awesome Star Trek duds.
