7. Being Turned Into A Bio-Mechanical Demonoid By The Initiative (Season 4, Episode 13)
Season 4 divides fans. There are some great episodes (like ‘Hush’), but not everything works smoothly, and the Initiative is one of the weakest aspects of Buffy’s time at college.
Tasked with investigating and stopping demonic activity by the U.S. government, the Initiative undertakes a number of experiments. As well as creating chips which prevent demons from harming people, they also create Adam – a Bio-mechanical demonoid. Or, to put it another way, a terrifying hybrid made from a human brain, various demons, and bits of technology.
Waking up in such a state would be like something from a nightmare. Despite still having a human brain, the various parts used to create Adam are grotesque. He looks like something from a biological horror movie.
Though Adam immediately takes to his new body by murdering his creator (Professor Walsh), he still has to live the remainder of his life as a terrifying monster.
