10 Cancelled TV Shows That Totally Deserve A Ripper Street Resurrection

9. Twin Peaks

This psychological thriller set the benchmark for television shows back in 1990. With its supernatural and mystery elements it hooked viewers as an FBI investigator tried to solve the case of a murdered young girl. This murder set in motion a chain of events that expand the plot from a simple police procedural to multiple intertwined stories. With the main plot resolved interest began to wane. However the production team have claimed that it was the studio that pressured them into having the murder solved. This means that without interference from executives Lynch and his team could expand the series with new mysteries and realise his ideas exactly how he wants to. While the audience might not have been entirely ready for Twin Peaks in 1990, they most certainly are now. In fact it has garnered new fans with repeats and Netflix showing that it still has a place today. With plenty of loose ends that still need tying up as well as the possibility of new story lines there should be enough material to justify a new series.
