10 Celebrities You Didn't Realise Were On Columbo

9. Billy Connolly

"The Big Yin" aka well-known Scottish comedian, and everyone's favourite "jobbie wheeker", Sir Billy Connolly is best known for his comedic roles but he appears as a hard-drinking killer in the penultimate episode of Columbo's final season.

"Murder With Too Many Notes sees a jealous composer murder his talented assistant to conceal the fact that the younger musician is actually responsible for composing his award-winning scores.

As with most latter-day Columbo episodes, this one isn't particularly great but it does feature a memorable duet of "That's Amore" performed by Connolly and Falk, and the episode is directed by Patrick McGoohan, star of cult 60s show The Prisoner.

Perhaps more interesting than the episode itself is Connolly's rumoured spat with McGoohan. Tempers reportedly flared when the actor arrived drunk on set and failed to properly deliver his lines. That's method acting at its finest.
