10 Celebrities You Didn't Realise Were On Columbo

Johnny Cash, the Man In Black himself, one of the biggest selling musicians of all time, appeared on Columbo way back in Episode 7 of Series 3. He's pretty good in it too.

In "Swan Song", Cash plays a popular singing evangelist whose partnership with his wife turns sour when she reveals she knows about his long term affair with a young fan. With his wife threatening him with blackmail, the singer hatches an elaborate plan to rid himself of both wife and mistress simultaneously.

Cash delivers a likeable everyman performance, a refreshing change from Columbo's traditional foes, and the elaborate murder, involving a staged plane crash (we won't spoil the details here), is both completely over the top and incredibly entertaining.

In his only appearance on Columbo, Johnny Cash's star power strengthens an already solid episode.
