10 Celebrities You Didn't Realise Were On Columbo
7. Leonard Nimoy
It's difficult to think of Leonard Nimoy as anyone other than Spock, Star Trek's iconic part-human, part-Vulcan first officer, but in Episode 2 of Season 6, he makes a memorable appearance as a dastardly doctor.
Nimoy proves to be perfectly suited as the eager young heart surgeon, so desperate to make a name for himself that he's content to callously dispose of his more cautious colleague.
This episode is notable in that Nimoy's cruel, unfeeling demeanour drives Columbo to an uncharacteristic outburst of anger, dropping his usually casual veneer. It's a fantastically powerful moment.
With a great pun for a title, "A Stitch In Crime" is one of Columbo's best episodes, due in no small part to the engaging storyline and fantastic performances from both Falk and Nimoy.
