10 Classic TV Shows That Need A Reunion Series
8. Buffy The Vampire Slayer
Yes, I am completely aware that Buffy the Vampire Slayer got not only seven seasons on the air, a moderately well-received spinoff, and a graphic novel series designed to provide the show with amounts to an eighth season. But come on, all of that was years ago, and a lot of fans would give their left kidney for a little more Sunnydale action.
The last episode of the show (and several appearances later on Angel) left us with the notion of multiple Slayers around the world, with members of the Scooby gang collaborating as quasi-Watchers. What I imagine is a reunion that leads into a new spinoff detailing this new global community of Slayers, giving original cast members the opportunity to play a major role in the show, while not forcing any specific one of them into a grueling 23-episode series.
All of the main characters are in the first episode or two, and then they flit in and out of the rest of the season, intermingling with new characters. It would have to be done carefully, but if anyone could get it done right, it would be Joss Whedon. And in a post-Avengers world, he has the clout in Hollywood to do just about anything he wants.
