10 Confusing TV Shows That Nobody Understands

The CW

Taking a leaf from True Detective's book, the CW's gritty Archie comics reboot makes about as much sense as... Well, as the idea of a gritty Archie reboot.

The show's relatively straightforward debut season centred around a simple enough plot concerning a murder mystery, with the cast of teens trying to solve who slew poor Jason Blossom.

By the time this question was answered the show had set up a nice little love triangle and some subplots (Archie wants to quit football for music!) to follow in future instalments.

So what came next?

Well, a slasher-style season wherein characters were offed one-by-one by a mysterious Black Hood, soon followed by the reveal of some secret siblings, the formation of a vigilante gang by our teen hero, some drug manufacturing, some prison time for our hero, bear attacks, an illegal in-prison boxing ring, a life-or-death game of knock-off Dungeons and Dragons, a turf war between two teenage criminal gangs (unrelated to the aforementioned vigilante gang)...

Oh, and speaking of a taking a leaf from True Detective's book, the show soon started investigating a series of grisly sacrifices, all the while continuing its ever-unravelling love triangles.

Did you get all that?
