Based off the PS2 game of the same title, the Gungrave anime further expanded the original story and doubled-down on the emotional beats.

Brandon Heat was the number one sweeper for the Millennion crime syndicate. Before his untimely death, he secretly made arrangements to have his body reanimated using the Necrolyze process so that he could continue to protect what was important to him. His resurrection made him sturdier and, as such, he donned a new codename: Beyond the Grave.

Matching the undead theme of his new moniker, his arsenal was equally upgraded. Brandon carries around a massive arsenal known as the Death Hauler. Shaped like a sarcophagus and packed with enough munitions to level a small country, the weapon is strapped to Brandon via chains wrapped around his arms. Inside the Hauler are two magnums, named Cerberus Left Head and Cerberus Right Head, after the three-headed dog that guards the gates of Hell.

Are we sensing a theme yet?

The Cerberus Heads are massive semi-automatic, large-caliber weapons with Roman-inspired crosses in red and white respectively built into the body of the guns. As any Necrolyzed creatures are incredibly hard to put down (and keep down) the entire arsenal Brandon lugs around with him was built and armed to make quick work of the would-be immortal monsters.

Living in a place colder than it is north of The Wall, Brad keeps warm with all the excitement that comes from a good anime series, comic book, or movie. Being an opinionated sort of fellow puts him in a precarious position with friends and strangers, but applying that superpower to the world of writing seems to be doing alright for him.
