10 Craziest Christmas Moments In TV History

6. Carry On Christmas

The Carry On series had caused many a titter in cinemas across Britain, so it was only logical a version would be brought to the small screen. If only an appropriate way could be found to get Sid James and co to record material exclusively for the box. A way was indeed found, but perhaps unspurprisingly for this politically incorrect beast it wasn't appropriate in the slightest.

Carry On Christmas racked up a few instalments between 1969 and 1983, and Barbara Windsor, Kenneth Williams, Bernard Bresslaw and the gang reunited to perform lewd skits in a crazy attempt to help families celebrate the big event.

On the menu were !*$% and bums aplenty, yet top marks for insanity go to the casting of James and Windsor as Father Christmas and a schoolgirl respectively. It's easy to look back on this with PC goggles of course, but that doesn't mean the team weren't pushing open the back door of eye-popping poor taste.
