10 Craziest Christmas Moments In TV History

7. The Simpsons - Perry & Puppets

While Matt Groening's animated colossus is often off on a tangent, delighting in challenging its fans' expectations, there are times when even The Simpsons goes right out there, creating chaos in the viewer's personal headspace. Their Halloween specials are legendarily deranged, but in The Fight Before Christmas it was the holiday season's turn to host a great big giftpack of goof.

We'd seen Homer in 3D before via computer animation, but for this special our favourite characters became puppets, and entertained a hell of a stocking filler in the form of Katy Perry. It was still The Simpsons, but a true glimpse into another dimension.

The fact you couldn't see the likes of Moe below the waist (not that that was ever an ambition of mine), together with the characters' strange rubberized features made this a totally bonkers addition to the franchise's roster of wrongheadedness.
