One of Family Guy's running gags is how Brian is a writer who struggles to write anything of substance. Some fans believe that the reason for Brian's inability to write any new material is that he is actually the writer for the entire show, based on real events that have happened to him. Given how heavily the show leans into self-referential humour, and how Brian is is generally portrayed as the voice of reason, it actually makes a shocking amount of sense that Family Guy is far more meta than you initially thought. The presentation of all the characters fits. Meg once tried to feed him a pie made with her hair before kidnapping him, which is why everyone is so mean to her. Brian is forever in love with Lois because she is a beautiful woman who treats him well. Peter and Chris are just average goofy guys that have been recharacterised to exaggerated idiots because Brian thought their antics needed more zaniness for his writing. Brian and Stewie have the closest relationship in the whole family, which is why there are episodes dedicated solely to their adventures and why those events are shown in far more detail than his adventures with Peter or anyone else. And since Brian is the writer of the show, the theory explains why no one questions the fact that he's a walking and talking dog - he filters it out. It also explains how Brian somehow manages to hook-up with more beautiful women than Leonardo DiCaprio, but no one seems to give a damn about bestiality or the fact that he's a dog. What other Family Guy theories are there out there? Shout out any we missed down in the comments.
My life story is nothing special. I haven't cured ebola, I'm nowhere near stopping terrorism, and I'm still working on that climate change problem.
Instead, all I've done so far is put a few hundred words together in an attempt to make people laugh.
You can follow me at @Fry_ying_pan but don't be offended if I don't tweet back. It's usually because I've spent too long trying to think up a witty response that the reply window has closed.
