7. Twisty

Twisty is messed up, hence his name, and he is probably one of the most depressing and gruesome characters of the entire show so far. He's so frightening that viewers who didn't have a fear of clowns before watching Freak Show are probably a little rattled if they ever see one running along the street. Cheers Mr Lynch. Although Twisty's aesthetics and general presence is frightening, his self inflicted wound and murderous rampages are even more so. In a suicide attempt gone wrong, Twisty shot off the lower half of his jaw which he why he wears that mask, so when he pulls it away to reveal a massive hole where his chin should be, it's literally repulsive. The murders that he commits as an act to get children to like him and spend time with him are equally grotesque because of their exceptionally violent manner. Twisty isn't a clever criminal and he's not killing to get away with it, he's killing for revenge which means that as long as he is alive, he will continue to spill blood.
