10 Craziest The Simpsons Fan Theories

1. There Are Multiple Hans Molemen

The Simpsons
Fox

In the episode, Hello Gudder, Hello Fadder, Homer stumbles upon a subterranean lair, populated by Mole People, ruled by Springfield resident, Hans Moleman. Upon seeing this, some fans came to the conclusion the Hans Moleman that's appeared sporadically throughout the show is actually numerous Molemen pretending to be the same person. Now, there are people who dismiss this theory, believing the Mole People scene was just a joke.

However, this theory explains a few inconsistencies with the character. Over the years, Moleman has been crushed, eaten by wolves, fallen off a highway, been buried alive, suffocated by a Prisoner balloon, drowned in quicksand, and been hit by a car half a dozen cars. Even though he keeps seemingly dying, Moleman always returns a few episodes later without explanation. Because of this, viewers speculated that anytime Hans dies, another of these Mole People assume his identity.

Also, Hans' skin noticeably changes colour throughout the series from yellow, brownish-yellow, to brown, further suggesting he's not the only one. In the episode, Burn's Heir, Moleman's skin changes from scene-to-scene, suggesting that the Molemen are regularly swapping places.
