This is probably the best known episode on this list, but I still think it is underrated. It also might be the funniest episode of Breaking Bad. This episode introduces Saul, the sleazy and offensive criminal lawyer who within minutes has already integrated perfectly into the show's universe. It also now has the honour of being the namesake of the future AMC spinoff to Breaking Bad, also titled Better Call Saul. No discussion of this episode would be complete without mentioning the riotous teaser that features Badger and guest star DJ Qualls playing a particularly dorky undercover cop in a stimulating conversation regarding meth dealing and the ethics of announcing that a person is a police officer. It's a brilliant interchange accentuated by the camera, which stays fixed for the entirety of the teaser. The episode puts into motion Saul's effort to be Tom Hagen to Walt's Vito Corleone and highlights the benefits that someone like Saul can offer Walt and Jesse, including getting someone to go to jail for Badger. This is another hilarious sequence that borders on slapstick comedy. Saul's witticisms on this show are a treasure. It is an outstanding episode that works as an interesting comic reprieve to the mostly dark and foreboding second season. Memorable Quote: Jesse Pinkman: "Dude's like Houdini. Seriously, when the going gets tough, you don't want a criminal lawyer. Alright, you want a criminal lawyer. You know what I'm saying?"
