4. The Middle
The Middle is the kind of show you can always turn to for a giggle at the end of the day. Frankie Heck lives in Indiana with her husband, played by the Janitor from Scrubs (Neil Flynn), and her three children, Axl, a typical teenager who spends most of his time playing basketball and grunting at his parents, Sue, the socially inept, overly enthusiastic middle child who provides most of the entertainment on the show, and the little brother of the family, Brick, an out-of-the-ordinary child who loves fonts and often whispers to himself in a way that's almost as creepy as Danny from The Shining. Although the reason for the title of the show has not been explicitly specified, it has been suggested that the name refers to the fact that the characters are a middle class family struggling during the current economic climate, living in middle America. Despite being a lesser known current T.V show, it generates successful viewer ratings and has been nominated for numerous awards, and that's surely a hallmark of its quality, if nothing else.
