10 Current TV Dramas That Show This Is A Golden Era
6. The Killing
When it was announced that the US would be making an American version of the Danish show, Forbrydelsen, the news was met with some wariness. However, three seasons down the line and over three years later it seems that The Killing is still going strong. The first two seasons of the show focus on the Larsen family whose teenage daughter has gone missing unleashing secrets, both political and familial, that those involved would rather have kept quiet. Headed by detective Sarah Linden and her new work partner, Holden, a team of investigators struggle to work out just what has happened to Rosie Larsen alongside strange goings on regarding the current political campaign. It is thought that the show's positive reception is due to the fact that it bears striking similarities to David Lynch's popular 90's show, Twin Peaks, a programme adored by drama fans everywhere, as well as the flawless portrayal of the two main characters, detective Linden and Holden, played by Mireille Enos and Joel Kinnaman. It has recently been announced that the show will return for a fourth and final season but The Killing will remain a drama show which proves that this era is golden.
