10 Damaging Life-Lessons The Simpsons Taught Us
Would you put up with a partner who constantly took advantage of your good nature while breaking everything and getting drunk? If yes, you could be Marge Simpson.
Everybody loves The Simpsons. We all have our favourite episodes, characters and quotes and though the show may not be as good now as it used to be, nobody can deny the cultural impact that Americas favourite non-prehistoric family have had on the world for the last quarter century. They have taught us many important lessons over the years; Homer and Marge teach us about the strength of love and family over money and fame. Lisa has learned many times-over the importance of being yourself and finding happiness in being different, and even Bart shows some moral fibre occasionally albeit long after doing the wrong thing first. Other episodes have seen the family teach and learn tolerance for cultural differences such as race, religion and sexual orientation. Who can forget Homers long road to accepting new friend John as gay: Queer right? Thats what you like to be called? However The Simpsons is a cartoon at the end of the day and thats how they have been able to get away with less inspiring morals and life lessons, which would never hold true in real life. The Simpsons is a parody of the typical American family and as such, they arent meant to be taken seriously, thought provoking though they may be.
