10 DC Characters That Need A TV Show

8. Midnighter And Apollo

While the comic book industry loves to act like it's made tons of progress in terms of diversity and representation, you'll notice that when it comes to gay romances between men, both DC and Marvel tend to play a bit more coy and noncommittal with it as compared to those between women. Which is odd for DC in particular, considering that Midnighter and Apollo are right there, and have been around for years.

And it's not like neither of them have been showing up - Midnighter has been a supporting character for Dick Grayson's current spy shenanigans for some time. Now, granted, some of this might have to do with the fact that these two are specifically designed to invoke Superman and Batman, but that crossover is no excuse to omit them from a live action.

Now, a DC universe show centering around these two would be a different story. Handled correctly, perhaps by a mostly/entirely LGBTQ+ writing team, we could have a truly great action/romance series that these two great characters deserve. They're one of the best gay romances in comic book history, they need a show that reflects that.
