10 DC Characters Who Deserve Their Own Show

6. Superman

Dc Batman
The CW

For this to work, the writers have to acknowledge that Superman is the most boring character in the DC Universe. But when he’s Clark Kent the stakes are far higher, not least because he has something to lose in the shape of his secret identity.

It might seem a little odd, but it would actually be better to make a journalistic thriller where Clark Kent’s problems are similar to Daredevil’s in that sure, he could pull on the costume and pull Lex Luthor’s head off, but that’s not justice. So to nail the bad guy he has to actually be a journalist, collecting evidence the old fashioned way because a conversation heard from a mile away using super hearing won’t hold up in court.

What’s more, you can also bring in a lot of the ‘last son of a dying world’ imagery and show him kinda struggling with fitting in with humans. Maybe for series two Supergirl makes herself known and Clark goes from fish out of water to her mentor? Tell me that's not compelling.
