9. Pissing Off Dream

In the DC universe, there are mortals, there are gods, there are the NEW Gods, and then there's the Endless. They are seven embodiments of metaphysical concepts that govern all existence, as shown in Neil Gaiman's masterpiece - The Sandman. Obviously from the name, you can guess that the series revolves around the embodiment of all creativity and thought, Dream.

And don't let his nineties emo punk rock look fool you - pissing off this dude is the last thing you want to do.

Let's start with the opening story arc, when Sandman was very much a horror story. After being captured and kept in a bubble for 80 years, Dream decides to get his revenge on the son of the man who captured him by trapping him in a never-ending waking nightmare that leaves him comatose to the rest of the world, while trapped in a prison of his own mind as he is hounded by nightmares for the rest of his days.

Or maybe you'd prefer to hear about the writer who kidnapped and abused Dream's ex-girlfriend, one of the Greek muses, to make himself into a world renown writer? When Dream found out about that, he not only rescued his girlfriend, but cursed the writer to have so many of the ideas he brutalized this innocent woman over all at once that it broke his pathetic little mind like a twig.

You do not. Mess. With the Dream King.
