10 DC Villains To Watch Out For In 2019 On Film & TV
1. Lex Luthor - Metropolis
While the DCEU concerns itself with the fallout of casting Jesse Eisenberg as the ignoble Lex Luthor, expect its TV counterpart to do the complete opposite by bringing the bald bad guy back to how he should be: a cold, calculating and sophisticated villain.
Not much has been heard of Metropolis since its announcement earlier in the year, but it's still slated for a 2019 release and we can expect it to take a similar approach to the Man of Steel's stories as Gotham did with Batman's. Indeed, that's been made evident by the show's synopsis, which promises a series that will focus on "Lois Lane and Lex Luthor as they investigate the world of fringe science and expose the city's dark and bizarre secrets."
That's... pretty out there, needless to say. However, anything beats Eisenberg's Lex, and while we eagerly await news of who will play the series' two leads, we can only hope that Metropolis finds the perfect balance between attempting something new, and displaying reverence for the material on which it is based.
