10 Most Powerful Weapons In Doctor Who History

The most powerful weapons in Doctor Who lore - featuring the TARDIS itself!

Typically, fans don’t think of weapons in association with the Doctor, but the sad truth of the world of Doctor Who is that weapons exist all over the place. The Doctor may not be ready to pick something up to detonate a star, but they could if they really wanted to.

Most of the villains the Doctor has faced over the years don’t have any problems annihilating planets, galaxies, and reality itself. For this reason, the Doctor’s stance on nonviolent confrontation has functioned as an antithetical approach to ultra-violence, and it works.

If you’ve been watching Doctor Who for a few years or a few decades, odds are, you’re familiar with some of the weapons used throughout the franchise. Every once in a while, something that could only be called a “superweapon” makes an appearance, and there have been a ton on the show.

This list highlights to deadliest devices that have, or could have killed off more innocents than the Doctor could stomach. Everything on this list has the potential for great devastation, though some have never been used...

10. Dalek Tank

Originally, the Daleks were the Kaleds, but through mutations and genetic manipulation, they became something entirely different... and evil!

A Dalek isn't what it appears on the surface, as their bodies are somewhat squid-like and small when compared to their shell. What we think of as a Dalek is actually a Dalek Tank, and for this reason, a Dalek Tank is more of a separate weapon system/platform that the Dalek itself operates.

Dalek Tanks have a plethora of deadly weapons onboard, and they're all pretty horrible. Their main weapon is the Dalek gunstick, which fires a beam of concentrated energy that is deadly to nearly everything in the universe with a single shot.

They can also travel through space and time (Dalek Caan managed to break into the Time War once, with the Doctor thought was impossible), are nigh-on indestructible, and can use their plunger arm to kill people or extract untold amounts of information in seconds.

There's also the extremely powerful special weapons Dalek featured in Remembrance of the Daleks, which is able to completely destroy two regular Daleks with a single shot.
