10 Deadliest Enemies Of The Stargate Universe

4. Asurans

The Asurans were first encountered in the Pegasus Galaxy, where they appeared to be a society of the Ancients. In reality, they were a nanite-based life-form originally created by the Lanteans as a means of defeating the Wraith. The Lanteans were responsible for the creation of both species, and the Asurans were made specifically to target Wraith DNA.

They were developed with an aggression code that made them relentless in their pursuit of the Wraith, which was something they begged the Lanteans to change. They refused and ultimately decided to destroy the Asurans and the nanite laboratory, but some nanites survived.

They replicated themselves, and over time, they developed into an advanced society that mirrored that of their creators. They went up against the Wraith, as they were programmed to do, and easily defeated them en masse, forcing the Wraith to develop a shutdown code that removed the Asuran desire to attack them.

They remained isolated, but when the Asurans were made aware of the Atlantis Expedition in the city of their birth, they occupied the city. The Asurans were nearly impossible to defeat, and they were incredibly destructive. By the time they were finally defeated, they had long proven themselves to be relentless killing machines.
