8. Surviving Jeffrey Epstein

Lifetime

Two major docuseries about the life and crimes of American financier Jeffrey Epstein premiered in 2020 - Netflix's Jeffrey Epstein: Filthy Rich, and this one that debuted on Lifetime.

Surviving Jeffrey Epstein tells the story of how the millionaire socialite used his fame and wealth to lure young women into compromising circumstances and then pay for it to be covered up.

It includes the accounts of several survivors of Epstein's abuse, including Virginia Giuffre, who lead the major legal campaign against Jeffrey and who accused British royal Prince Andrew of being involved in his operations.

The series does a thorough job of telling the whole story, right up to Epstein's death in prison in 2019. The crew were still filming just a month before the documentary was due to air in order to cover the FBI arrest of Epstein's alleged co-conspirator, Ghislaine Maxwell.

A profound and moving documentary - calls to the American National Sexual increased by 34% after it was first shown - Surviving Jeffrey Epstein paints a haunting picture of one of the 21st Century's most infamous monsters.
