10 Doctor Who Characters Who Came Back From The Dead

9. Jenny (The Doctor's Daughter)

Due to the fact that she was created from the DNA of the Tenth Doctor, Jenny wasn't just an average human: she had two hearts, as well as the ability to flip through laser beams like a ninja. Still though, none of these extra buffs managed to save her from death at the end of her sole TV appearance in 2008's The Doctor's Daughter.

After moving in front of the Doctor and taking a bullet that was meant for him, Jenny fell to the ground and died shortly after. The Doctor then angrily threatened to shoot her killer before flying away from the planet, believing her to be gone for good.

But wait! It's not over. In one final scene, a golden cloud of light emerged from Jenny's mouth and she sprang back to life, with her Time Lord DNA appearing to give her corpse a much-needed regenerative kick.

Excited to see more of the universe, Jenny then stole a shuttle and jetted off into space, in much the same way that the Doctor "stole a TARDIS and ran away" all those years ago. Like father, like daughter.

Danny has been with WhatCulture for almost nine years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
