10 Dullest Star Trek Aliens

4. The Iconians - Star Trek's Gate Builders

DPP_0001 The story behind the Iconians is simple, an alien race builds a vast empire and then builds gateways in which to travel to those planets without using ships. They simply step through a door , appearing out of thin air on the planet of their choice. Yet with all of this awesomeness, I still don€™t want to meet them. Nothing that was left behind, their laboratory or the fact they were considered a myth made me want to see them or have the crew interact with them. I just imagined that their world was nothing but a mess of different colored triangles, ie boring. Star Trek: Voyager reinvigorated the storyline by replacing the Iconians with the Vaadwaur. The Vaadwaur discovered €œunderspace€, tunnels through space, giving them quick access to numerous star systems in the Gamma Quadrant. Bottom Line: , The fact that the writers had to make up an entire new species €“ that also appeared for just one episode - rather than just have Gamma Quadrant Iconians means that the Iconians were to dull and forgettable to resurrect in a new series.
