3. "The Crypts Are The Safest Place To Be"
This entry takes aim at the collective stupidity of all the characters at Winterfell during the Night King's assault in Season Eight. While all the other entries on this list are intentional character driven choices that largely stay true to the situation those individuals are in, this one is on the writers.
It isn't outside the realm of possibility that someone in Winterfell would suggest keeping the women and children within the castle's expansive crypts during the battle. But, it is highly shocking that not a single character, from Tyrion to Jon Snow, would point out that hiding from a entity that can raise the dead in a sealed corridor filled with corpses was a pretty terrible idea.
David Benioff and D.B. Weiss are great storytellers, but they underestimated their audience if they believed that this wouldn't be everyone's first thought whenever it was repeatedly mentioned how "safe" the crypts were.
The fact that no one caught on in the show is just highly unbelievable, and one of the dumbest choices a collective set of characters make together.
